Bamurru Plains

Bamurru Plains is a luxury safari camp and an extraordinary bush experience on the edge of Kakadu National Park in Australia’s Northern Territory. This exclusive camp, with just nine Safari Bungalows, exudes ‘Wild Bush Luxury’ ensuring that guests are exposed to the sights and sounds of a spectacular environment in style and exclusivity.

Specialising in executive retreats, stylish events and celebrations Bamurru Plains can be privately reserved for small groups, private parties, adventurous incentives and those looking to just relax. Alternatively, it is ideal for pre- or post-conference tours out of Darwin.

Activities focus on exploring the surrounding country, with airboat trips on the wetlands, river cruises in search of crocodiles, bush drives and guided walks. If it is just chilling out in camp, the wet edge pool is a great spot to sit back with a cool drink and let the wildlife come to you. It is the soft touches that surprise and the understated luxury is very much in tune with the surrounding environment.

It is Australia’s newest luxury safari camp recently rated Best Hotel in Australasia Pacific in the prestigious Conde Nast (UK) Travel Awards.

It offers a style of accommodation more akin to some of the safari camps in Africa. The Main Lodge includes a library, sitting and dining areas overlooking the floodplains and there is a 10.2 metre water edge swimming pool.

The all-inclusive tariff includes all meals, beverages including alcohol and most activities (excluding guided fishing, helicopter flights and Kakadu day trips).

Bamarru Plains is also a working Buffalo Station, with excellent proximity to Kakadu and Arnhem Land.

Please note that Bamurru Plains is a luxury bush camp and as such does not have all the amenities of a traditional 5 star hotel. For example, in-room telephone, mini bar and television. As an all-inclusive property we include a minimum of 2 guided touring options per day, maximum 6 passengers per vehicle, and a total of 3 vehicles. Activities included airboat trip over the Mary River Floodplains, 4WD wildlife tours, guided bushwalks and crocodile river cruise. Day trips to Kakadu and Arnhem Land and fishing can be arranged at additional cost.
