Katherine

We would like to respectfully acknowledge  the traditional owners and custodians of the land. We would also like to pay respect to the elders past and present.

The outback meets the tropics at Katherine. The Northern territory's third-largest town, Katherine is on the banks of the Katherine River, which flows from the nearby world-renowned Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk National Park).

Katherine is the gateway to nature and adventure and the perfect base to explore the Gulf region.

With a rich local history harking back to the first Royal Flying Doctors Service flight or the Overland Telegraph lines the town of Katherine is home to the oldest homestead in the Territory, built in 1879.

Katherine is an ideal location to include as a pre tour for delegates wanting a touch of adventure to kick off their trip with a cruise, canoe, bushwalk or flight over the spectacular Katherine Gorge or as a post tour to close out the trip with the magical Hot Springs just minutes from town or a walk through the stunning limestone caves. Delegates can even take time out of their day to spend with the local Indigenous artists and get in touch with the local unique Aboriginal culture.
