About the Northern Territory
The Territory occupies about one sixth of Australia’s total land mass and is the size of several European countries combined.
It is made up of six main destinations and their immediate surrounds:
- Darwin, Kakadu and Katherine
- Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Uluru/Ayers Rock
Each destination has its own appeal and offers a unique range of experiences, people, places and history that can be woven into any event itinerary.
Throughout the Territory is a common, infectious spirit and energy. You’ll find it around campfires in the outback, on cavewalls etched with drawings more than 50,000 years old and in the open smiles and friendly conversation of locals.
Even though it’s only a four-hour flight from most Australian capital cities, and a relatively short flight from Asia and Europe, the Northern Territory is far away in spirit from the hustle and bustle of city life. You’ll immediately be absorbed in the immense natural and cultural treasures that are waiting to be experienced, complemented by top class facilities – if you choose to employ them.
